jQuery and iScroll gallery

Today I finished work on a sliding gallery that works for both modern mobile browsers on touch devices (mobile webkit) and desktop browsers. Using jQuery and Cubiq’s iScroll and a little bit of custom Javascript I created, what I dubbed, weScroll. weScroll is basic a sliding gallery which brings a native sliding experience to both desktop and mobile browsers. Using jQuery to offer the standard functionality for desktop browsers and Cubiq’s iScroll to offer touch functionality for mobile webkit browsers (iPhone, iPad and Android).

Feel free to check out and download the source at this example. Or simply scan the QR code with your mobile webkit phone.

Oh, and let me know if you like it. Post a comment!

This setup has been at the base of multiple projects I set up in the past 6 months. One is MooiRood.nl, another is RoelNederveen.nl. I’ve discussed these two projects in Dutch on this blog. Blogposts can be found here and here.

Code for this setup is for inspirational purposes, not as an example of best practice.
